I have over twelve years experience working within the fitness industry as both a personal trainer and exercise specialist with focus on pre/post natal and rehabilitation. My experience covers working with a range of clients usually athletes or the first time exerciser both looking for specific programmes and goals.

My portfolio includes working with pop stars such as Five-star, Brian May and Ellie Campbell but also members of Pinewood Boxing Club, The British Rowing team and members of the British Taekwondo team.

On December 15th 2008 I competed in the UK National All styles Martial Arts Championships reaching the Semi Finals after winning a regional heat. This involved a very strict and tailored programme consisting of physical and mental fine tuning.

Background

I have worked in the fitness industry for 12 years, 4 of which I served in the British Army as a Physical Training Instructor, serving in both Commando and Airborne Regiments.

Qualifications

My broad range of qualifications in the fitness industry includes a Diploma in Personal Training and Sports Massage Therapy. My studies are ongoing to keep up with current exercise sciences in relation to the needs of a diverse and evolving client base. I am currently studying for a Masters Diploma in PT.

Consistency, intensity and dedication are my key rules to achieve success. I believe in setting realistic goals personally tailored to meet each individual's targets, ranging from complete beginners to sports specific athletes. I use a variety of methods to achieve results including:

Until 2005 I was involved in local football as a player. This came to an end after a serious knee injury. It was during my time of rehabilitation that I reflected upon my current lifestyle. It was my love of sport and fitness which inspired me to become a personal trainer. I now use my personal experience to inspire other people to change their lifestyle.

Current clients include a professional footballer and coach for a professional local team.

I have over eighteen years experience working within the fitness industry as both a personal trainer and a swimming teacher. I have worked with clients to lose weight, helped with rehabilitation issues relating to cardiac episodes,strokes and muscular imbalances through sports injuries.

I have also worked with members of the British judo squad. Most notably Lisa Stephens, who had a green bone fracture of her right arm, 8 months out from the commonwealth judo championships in 2006. Through a personalised fitness program and visualisation techniques I managed to get Lisa mentally and physically fit for the competition. Where she went on to win 2 Gold medals in the under 44kg weight category ( junior and senior level.)

In August 2008 I worked with PTI's from The Army School of Physical training to help them prepare mentally at the London Triathlon. On September 7th 2008 I completed the Ironman UK Triathlon pushing myself to my own mental and physical limits.

My passion for health and fitness started in school, continued through university and enabled me to secure a job in a well known gym. I was employed as a personal trainer, studio instructor and sports masseuse. Throughout my time there I continued to gain additional qualifications, which included kettlebell training.

 

I also worked with the Bracknell Rugby Team and attended the Reading half marathon as a masseuse. I have also taken part in the Yately and Frimley 10k’s and the Windsor 8k runs.

I believe in a holistic approach to health and fitness and am passionate about the concept of exercise for life. Having a personal trainer is for everyone – not just the rich and the famous! Many people benefit from having their own personal trainer to help them stay motivated and see real progress towards their fitness goals and a healthier lifestyle.
